Paying for Perplexity step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- On the web you subscribe via Upgrade in the sidebar or Settings → Subscription — the card goes into the payment provider's form.
- Monthly and annual billing are available; annual is noticeably cheaper, and annual Max is sold on the web only.
- In the iPhone and Android apps the purchase goes through the App Store or Google Play and is managed there.
- Change plans or turn off renewal in Settings → Subscription; access lasts until the paid period ends.
What can go wrong
If the Perplexity payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- If Pro was bought through the App Store, you cannot renew it on the web until you cancel it with Apple.
- Tax for the billing-address country may be added — the final amount appears on the last step.
- Partner promo access ends quietly and regular billing to the saved card starts.
