Paying for Cursor step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- Choose a plan at cursor.com in Dashboard → Billing or via Upgrade inside the editor — payment runs through Stripe.
- Every plan includes a monthly amount of model usage; beyond it you pay as you go if you allow it.
- Set a spending limit in the Dashboard so extra usage cannot drain the card.
- On Teams the team owner pays for all seats; members do not need a card.
What can go wrong
If the Cursor payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- Usage beyond the plan is charged in separate payments during the month — keep a buffer on the card or model access is paused.
- Prices exclude tax; depending on the billing-address country, tax is added.
- If an old failing payment method stays in the Dashboard, Cursor may keep retrying it — remove it after adding the new card.
