Paying for Character.AI step by step

Use the card like any foreign bank card:

  • On the web, c.ai+ is bought from the subscription button in the profile menu; the card goes into a payment form.
  • In the iPhone and Android apps it is bought through the App Store or Google Play and renews there.
  • The plan is monthly and auto-renews; cancel anytime before the charge date.
  • Cancelling on the web does not cancel an App Store purchase and vice versa — manage it where you bought it.

What can go wrong

If the Character.AI payment fails, it is usually one of these:

  • App Store purchases follow the Apple ID country rules — the payment method must be from the same country.
  • An in-app subscription does not show up in web billing; it is a different sales channel, not an error.
  • Tax for the billing-address country may be added.
