Paying for Setapp step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- Enter the card when starting the trial on the Setapp website or in its Mac app.
- After the 7-day trial the subscription is charged automatically unless cancelled beforehand.
- Monthly and yearly billing are available — yearly is much cheaper; prices exclude tax.
- Change the card and plan in your account on the Setapp website under subscription.
What can go wrong
If the Setapp payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- Setapp does not serve users in Russia: the account may be restricted if the service decides it is used from Russia. The card does not change that.
- Setapp does not serve users in Russia — this is the service's own restriction.
- The final price depends on the country, with local tax added, and prices changed in 2026 — check the amount at checkout.
- If a renewal fails, catalog apps stop launching until payment goes through.
