Paying for Google One step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- Payment goes through your Google payments profile (Google Pay): add the card at pay.google.com under Payment methods or right at checkout.
- A payments profile has a fixed country that cannot be changed — for another country you create a new profile, and prices follow it.
- Google may place a small verification authorization that is released automatically.
- The plan can be shared with a family group of up to five people — only the owner pays.
What can go wrong
If the Google One payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- Google One restricts payments and accounts linked to Russia. The card solves payment, not the service's rules.
- Google has limited paid subscriptions for users in Russia since 2022 — this is the service's own rule.
- If you subscribe through Google Play on Android, billing goes through Play, which is unavailable for Russian Play profiles.
- After a failed renewal, Gmail eventually stops receiving mail and uploads stop if you use more than 15 GB.
