How much GitHub costs
Prices from the official page as of 2026-11-02. The service may change them; the exact amount is shown at checkout.
- Team — $4 per month
- Enterprise — $21 per month
- Copilot Pro — $10 per month
- Copilot Pro+ — $39 per month
Paying for GitHub step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- For a personal account add the card under Settings → Billing and licensing → Payment information; for an organization, in its settings (owner access).
- Team and Enterprise prices are per user per month; Copilot Pro is purchased separately on a personal account.
- Usage beyond the included limits (Actions, Packages, Codespaces) is charged at the end of the billing cycle — set a budget first to avoid surprises.
- Country and tax details are filled in under payment information and appear on receipts.
What can go wrong
If the GitHub payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- GitHub restricts payments and accounts linked to Russia. The card solves payment, not the service's rules.
- GitHub follows US trade controls: paid features may be restricted for accounts in sanctioned countries and regions — this is stated in the service's own rules.
- GitHub may run a verification authorization when you add a card; if it fails, the card isn't saved.
- If a charge fails, the organization's paid features turn off and Copilot stops until payment goes through.
