Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- Channel subs, gift subs, Bits and Turbo are bought on twitch.tv in a browser: the card is entered at the first purchase and saved in payment settings.
- In the mobile app purchases go through the App Store or Google Play and usually cost more than on the website.
- Channel sub prices depend on the country: Twitch uses local pricing, so viewers pay different amounts.
- Subscriptions renew monthly, while Bits are bought one-off in packs.
What can go wrong
If the Twitch payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- The sub price is tied to the country Twitch detects from the account and payment details — switching cards can change the amount.
- Twitch's payment provider sometimes declines prepaid and virtual cards. After a decline, check the address and balance rather than retrying many times.
- Subs bought through the App Store or Google Play can't be cancelled or moved on the website — only in the store settings.
