Paying for Epic Games Store step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- Enter the card right in the checkout window in the launcher or on the store website, and save it for later purchases if you like.
- Store prices depend on the Epic account country, and the charge is in that country's currency. A dollar card works smoothest when prices are in dollars too.
- V-Bucks are bought inside Fortnite. On PC the payment goes through Epic; on a console or phone it goes through that platform's store, with its own payment rules.
- Fortnite Crew renews automatically every month until you cancel.
What can go wrong
If the Epic Games Store payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- If the card address country does not match the account country, the issuer or Epic's anti-fraud may decline the payment.
- A Fortnite Crew subscription started on a console is billed by the console store, not by the card in Epic.
- Many retries in a row look suspicious to anti-fraud — after a decline, check the details instead of pressing Buy again.
