Paying for Apple TV step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- The subscription is billed through your Apple ID: add the card under Payment & Shipping and it's charged alongside other Apple subscriptions.
- Subscribe in the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac or in a browser at tv.apple.com.
- Apple TV is part of Apple One — if you also use iCloud and Apple Music, the bundle can be cheaper.
- On smart TVs and streaming boxes the subscription is sometimes sold through their stores, in which case that platform's billing applies.
What can go wrong
If the Apple TV payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- Apple TV does not serve users in Russia: the account may be restricted if the service decides it is used from Russia. The card does not change that.
- The card must be from the same country as the Apple ID region, otherwise Apple won't accept it.
- Films sold or rented in the Apple TV store are not part of the subscription and are charged separately.
- The trial needs a card and turns into a paid subscription automatically when it ends.
