Paying for Apple Music step by step
Use the card like any foreign bank card:
- Billing goes through your Apple ID: add the card under Payment & Shipping, and all Apple subscriptions are charged to it.
- The Apple ID region must match the card country — Apple accepts cards only from the country where the account is registered.
- On Android, Apple Music is subscribed in the app and is also tied to an Apple ID.
- New subscribers usually get a free month, but a card is required upfront: the subscription renews automatically after the trial.
What can go wrong
If the Apple Music payment fails, it is usually one of these:
- You can change the Apple ID region only with no active subscriptions and no balance left, and purchases from the old region may become unavailable.
- If Apple won't accept the card, check that the Apple ID country, the card's issuing country and the profile address match.
- The Apple Music price depends on the Apple ID region, not on the card.
